1995 Chateau Leoville Poyferre Saint-Julien (Grand Cru Classe) —— TRWC RATING: 94
Opened in 2022, this Left Bank Bordeaux stood the test of time brilliantly. Not a hint of over-age was detected and the nose immediate and full. Left for 4 hours to decant, the tobacco and cassis came front and center immediately. The blackberry and a hint of blackcurrant were detectable throughout. Unexpectedly, the tannins were as understated as the bold finish rose to the occasion.
2016 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast —— TRWC RATING: 92
A rich and intense costal pinot noir with hints of strawberries and ripe fruit. The finish lasted a long time and the nose was perfectly balanced with rich layers.
2016 Pym-Rae —- TRWC RATING: 95
A wonderful blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc. The 2016 Pym-Rae had a silky finish with wonderful fruit and went down like butter. Notes of cherries, mountain fruit and forest floor, the flavor hit the front and back palate perfectly with flavors lasting a long time. This wine paired perfectly with our Australian Wagyu beef.
2004 Caymus —- TRWC Rating: 97
The luscious texture of this varietal is only matched by tantalizing colors and aromas that imbue this masterpiece. Hints of chocolate, cherry, and cinnamon draw you into and the smooth rolling finish eases you down to a lingering cacophony of flavors that lasts for what seems like an eternity.
